Join Flagstaff Stargazing on a journey through the cosmos as we bring faraway galaxies, planets, and nebulae right to your phone using long exposure photography techniques and the latest technology in deep space imaging.
To start our evening, we will get everyone situated with a chair and hot drinks, and connect cell phones to the telescope.
Please be sure to bring your own mugs!
Long exposure imaging, well, takes some time...
so while we wait for our images to stack and become clearer
, we will take a trip through the cosmos, discussing ancient constellation mythology, modern astronomy, explanations of the deep space objects such as galaxies and nebulae, and dark sky conservation challenges.
To end our evening, you will get one of the most unique photos in the Southwest...standing under a sea of stars in one of the darkest skies in the lower 48.
Winter is best for the clearest skies
Spring is best for viewing galaxies
Summer is best for Milky Way Galactic Core visibility
Autumn is best for Milky Way and Constellations
-If poor viewing conditions are presented, we will offer alternative dates or a refund.
