Come to our living laboratory for sustainable systems, and get a personalized tour. I can show you how our natural buildings were created with local and salvaged materials. I can explain how the 3 different hand built passive solar water heaters work, as well as the solar design of the buildings and other appropriate technologies. See our rainwater systems. We live here completely on rainwater, there is no well. I will show you our gardens and greenhouses that rely on the rainwater as well. Our
site is always in progress. It's rustic, hand built, and saturated in intentional design. We will spend an hour touring and sharing models for sustainable living. I'd love to hear about your own sustainable projects as well. It's always fun brainstorming. I have designed all the systems on site and spent the last 15 years living with them and refining them. We start in the outdoor community kitchen and wander through the passive solar earthbag hybrid house that we built for ourselves. Access to the inside of the small strawbale cottages is variable as we may be hosting students and residents.
Other things to note
Remember it's a mile and a half down a bumpy dirt road to get to our site. 4wd or high clearance is preferred but usually not absolutely necessary. Stay in touch with us about wet road conditions.
