Welcoming all Tequila & Cocktail Enthusiasts! Let’s let our palates explore the rich history of Tequila & Mezcal. We will begin by tasting three spirits from all around Jalisco & Oaxaca. Next we’ll brainstorm how we can create 2 unique cocktails with local fruit, an array of bitters, herbs, & spices! These agave based spirits will incorporate the Dale DeGroff methodology of bartending. He was an influential force behind the craft cocktail world. In 1960 Dale was notorious for swapping artificial sour mixes and syrups for narural ingredients & fresh citrus. Re-introducing the public to long-forgotten classics techniques of bartending. Featured on Netflix's "Love is Blind" and "World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals" this small urban farm is a bucketlist experience. In fact, we just gave this same tour experience to the famed Billie Eilish and her family! You'll enjoy a one-hour guided experience where you learn about our four spoiled llamas and four suri alpacas, our farm, our bamboo forest, see our treehouse and beautiful structures. All of our animals are rescues and have gone from (in some cases neglect and abuse), to a loving environment in their habitat and Bamboo Forest. You will learn about these highly intelligent animals, their herd dynamics, individual personalities, get up close to them, and learn about non-verbal communications, and quirks. We will provide you with organic baby carrots and you'll get an opportunity to take selfies and group photos at the end of the tour! Other things to note: CDC says masks not required outside. We are fully vaccinated and don't wear masks outside. Wear sensible shoes. We are a farm and oftentimes the ground is muddy. Be in a happy mood and ready to meet some really smart llamas and alpacas.

Join me for the BEST, most UNIQUE experience in Atlanta as we take a bee-hind the scenes look at a thriving honeybee hive! We’ll begin this edutaining agritourism event inside the BUZZebo with a brief intro of all that we expect to see inside the hive (spoiler alert: lots of bees!) Although the honeys like to mind their own beeswax, we’ll suit up in an ultra figure-enhancing, protective bee suit and do a thorough safety check. Next, the pyromaniacs among us can fire up the bee smoker and we're off to the apiary! Together, we'll geek out as we get an up close and personal look at how honeybees team up to rear young, turn nectar into honey, and tend to her majesty, The Queen! Your hands-on involvement is highly encouraged and I’ll pass off frames of bees to the participation-inclined among us, while teaching you to spot pollen, nectar, and developing bees, with plenty of time along the way for photo ops! Now it's time to put your honey where your mouth is and transition to the ultimate sensory experience: the honey tasting flight! We'll talk through 9 different honeys, including our own Sneaky Bee wildflower honey! Give me a buzz with any questions! Get a behind the scenes look at chimpanzees living in sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains! This is a unique opportunity to see some of the chimpanzees and learn about their unique life in sanctuary. Because we aren't a zoo, you'll see the chimps in a relaxed, peaceful setting, unlike anything you've experienced before. The chimps have access to a 6-acre forest and, while chimp sightings are never guaranteed, they usually like to see who has come to visit! The walking tour lasts about one hour. You'll also spend time with our sanctuary team and learn more about the amazing lives of chimpanzees! Tours are limited to ten people and chimps love children (under 5 are free)! Having very little exposure to children in their former lives, they are absolutely fascinated by the smallest visitors. Service animals are also welcome, but the tour may need to be modified for the chimps' comfort. Walking tours are on gravel roads with a decent incline, so expect a moderate hike. We have golf carts available, as needed. We'll also provide bottled water. Strollers are not recommended. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. There is no contact between humans and chimps, but you will have the opportunity to see them up close and personal for a once in a lifetime experience. Other things to note You will not have direct contact with the chimpanzees. Experiences are held rain or shine, we do not reschedule unless there is a weather advisory that impacts travel. Chimps have the option to retreat to their villas out of sight at any time. Chimp sightings are very likely but can't be guaranteed.

The tour begins meeting Johnny, a descendant of local enslaved ancestors & lifelong resident of the area at the oldest standing structure in DeKalb County, the historic Lyon's House site. Here you tour the grounds, experience the living area of slaves, & listen to rich stories passed down through generations. You gain an understanding of what it was like for families to live on small Southern Farms before the Civil War. You will also enjoy the best scenic views of Panola Mtn that only a local would know. Next drive along a paved two-lane road to the start of an old stagecoach road, now a trail. Continue the trail for .25 miles as you get an understanding of Flat Rock. Then you turn a corner and enter a wooded area dotted with gravestones. This is the Flat Rock Historic Cemetery with at least 202 interred individuals, many simple unidentified gravestones. We usually do not visit the cemetery in summer because this area has ticks & overgrown with ivy. Please communicate beforehand that you want to visit the cemetery if it is summer as you will have to make sure to dress appropriately-pants, long socks, tennis shoes. Some interred were born enslaved & freed after the Civil War. We will also visit the site of the first AA Methodist church site of the Flat Rock Community. And we will end the tour at the Flat Rock Archive. This is a small museum highlighting local AA history.
